1. Who is David Preissel, say something about yourself
Hi there, my name is David Preissel and I am coming from Switzerland. I am currently 23 years old and got into music at the age of 6. I had my first drum lessons with 7 years and joined my first semi-professional band when I was 17 years old. With this band which is nowadays called Pure Inc. I toured all around Europe together with bands such as Masterplan, circle II circle, Doro and the Michael Schenker Group. Right now I am preparing myself to study pop/rock music on Drums, aimed for the sec! ond semester of the year 2007. Besides music I am a passionate photographer trying to capture the beauty and darkness of this world. I have a passion photographing trees and landscapes. Even though photography is just my balance besides music I had the honour to work for bands such as the Norwegian extreme Metal legends Zyklon and Tidfall. Other than that I have a weakness for video games and good movies.

2. What is your inspiration when you do your art? Can you describe your style?
When it comes to photography Inspirations appears and vanishes, mostly depending on daily happenings or things which have inspired me in a movie. I often check the work of other photographers and then try to get behind their idea. This expands your artistic horizon and also adds to your inspiration in the end. Talking about my style it's hard to put me into a certain category: Most of my works have a dark and “blueish” touch, because I simply have a weakness for that theme. Though I try to be a varied artist trying myself in different styles of photography. Technically I prefer working with natural light. Light which is available onsite and light that challenges you to make the best out of every situation.

3. Tell something about the artwork for the Netherbird Netghost of Boulevard Black. What does it symbolize for you?

Right now I cannot express a certain feeling about that concrete artwork because the photograph of mine has been chosen by Netherbird and wasn't created explicitly for this project. Judging the Netherbird artwork in general I think it clearly expresses darkness and hope at the same time. The death angel which actually expresses Death but still has the ability to stun you with her beauty.. I think this is fascinating. Also the rest of the artwork has an own identity and relates to Netherbird's music in many ways. Let's see what we come up with next...

4. Anything else you would like to tell the people that visit Netherbird.com?
It's great to be part of this project and It is an honour to do both photographs and drum recordings. For me Netherbird is like a big circle of friends coming together sharing their passion, having a good time and trying to add something good to the music scene.
